DNA-encoded chemical libraries (DEL) represents a promising tool in drug discovery which bridges the fields of combinatorial chemistry and molecular biology. Its appearance and application are gradually changing the vision of small molecule drug R&D. Large pharmaceutical and biotech company are accelerating that construction of drug screen platform for DEL in the form of internal development or external cooperation currently. Compared with the traditional high-throughput screening of multi-million compound libraries, DEL can cover a wide range of chemical space, and the compound has an order of magnitude increase, and the practical application can effectively shorten the time of small molecule drug R&D.
While the DNA encoding compound library has obvious speed and cost advantages, there are still some problems, such as relatively large molecular weight, insufficient chemical reaction type of DNA compatibility, insufficient structure, and the diversity of building reagent, which need to be optimized and improved. The promotion and application of DNA coding compound libraries still face some challenges.
The " Shanghai Symposium of DNA Encoded Library technology and application" will be organized and hosted by Bioon and Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Shanghai on June 29, 2018. This symposium will invite top-level experts in DEL from domestic and foreign, new drug synthesis and screening researchers from institutes, pharmaceutical company department leaders, and CRO companies to discuss key technical issues of DEL, as well as looking forward to the most cutting-edge applications of DEL in drug discovery and accelerate the development of new drug R&D.
